The wedding season got off to a flying start this year with 6 weddings in March alone which has kept me pretty busy, luckily the weather hasn't been too bad which always helps. Here are a few photos from the weddings over the last month or so:

First wedding of the year

Had a great wedding shoot in Monday up at Tankersley Manor and looking forward to processing the photos over the next few days. Have another wedding to photograph there on Sunday too. 

Flying start to the year

Been a busy start to 2014 with wedding photography enquiries and bookings coming in thick and fast along with a decent start to my corporate photography, something I didn't expect in January and February. There are still places left for wedding photography bookings so please don't hesitate to contact me to check availability but slots are filling up. Looking forward to the varied selection of venues I have to shoot at so far this year too.

Wedding Bookings 2014

Happy New Year! Been a busy couple of weeks since the New Year with wedding bookings for 2014 coming in thick and fast. Maybe there were a lot of marriage proposals over the Christmas period :)

Last wedding of the year....

Looking forward to photographing a wedding at Sheffield Registry office tomorrow which should hopefully provide some nice Christmas themed wedding photos. I'm certain that this will be the last wedding of the year but you never know. Just hoping the weather isn't as terrible as the forecast says.

Pre-Christmas Photography Rush

Was expecting this time of year to be fairly quiet as is often the case but there has been quite a few late bookings for press photography this week and even a late wedding on Christmas eve which I'm really looking forward to. All good stuff :)

Wedding Photography 2013

Wedding photography bookings for next year are well under way and it looks to be a busy year! Had 5 queries in the last couple of days with 3 bookings, if you are thinking of booking a photographer for your wedding it seems you can never be too early these days.

Christening photography ......

Been quiet a busy week this week with several wedding and corporate bookings taken and a christening to shoot at St Nicholas Church, High Bradfield tomorrow. The church there is lovely and here is a photo I took a few years ago on a wintery afternoon:

It's been a busy week .....

Generally at this time of year photography work can dip due to the weather and the end of the wedding season but it's been rather a busy week for me. First there was a shoot at Kelham Island Museum, Sheffield with the Duke of Gloucester opening a new gallery they have there, then a corporate shoot for Policy Connect and the Associate Parliament Health Committee conference in Rotherham and then a promotional shoot for BMI Healthcare at Thornbury Hospital who have got a new CT Scanner. And tonight it's Halloween which is usually great for photos wherever you are!

General photography musings.

Quite a busy week last week, I have recently become a certified photographer for Pure Wedding World which puts me on their list of approved wedding photographers so it will be interesting to see how that venture progresses over the coming months. Usual stint of club photography at the Viper Rooms, Sheffield on Saturday evening followed by several visits to prospective wedding clients.

I'm also hoping to do a bit of autumnal landscape photography over the next week but looking at the weather forecast could be scuppered so here is a shot I did last year:

It's a shame the weather is looking so bad because there is a very short window where you can get autumn shots with the lovely colours that are available at this time of year.

Wedding Photography

Looking forward to the wedding shoot tomorrow at Ficher's, Baslow - hope the weather stays nice but I'll be happy as long as there is no rain :), sure there will be the opportunity for some decent shots whatever the weather.

Tramlines Festival 2013

Had a great Tramlines Festival this year which as Head of Photography gives me a chance to roam the city's venues at will meeting lots of new people and doing band photography - something that got me into photography in the first place. Also a great opportunity to meet up with my fellow photographers and get to know knew ones.

Tramlines 2013

Putting the final touches to organising the photographers for this years Tramlines festival taking place in Sheffield 19-21 July. I suspect this year is going to be scorching :/ - all I need now is the list of what the Tramlines people want covering specifically by the photography team.....

Choir Shoot and other photography stuff

This weekend I'll be photographing a choir at St John the Baptist church, Hillsborough and then a stint at the Viper Rooms later on Saturday evening. As well as trying to organise all the other photographers working at the Sheffield Tramlines festival next weekend. Hopefully it will all go smoothly :)

Wedding party, club shoot and child portraits

Quite a busy weekend for my photography, first there was a wedding party evening do shoot, followed a couple of hours later with my usual stint doing club photography at the Viper Rooms, and a child portrait shoot on Sunday. Best get processing the photos :)

Tramlines festival

One of the things I'm heavily involved in is Tramlines. As Head of Photography it's my job to ensure optimal coverage of the festival and usually involves me organising around 30 volunteer photographers to cover the event over the 3 days. This time of year is when it's time to sort out the coverage and photographers. Sounds more glamourous  than its is but it's something I enjoy. Obviously I also get involved in the actual photography too during the festival. AAA pass has its uses :)

Wedding Photography

Had a few bookings for my wedding photography this week including one at Fisher's in Baslow and a last minute evening do on Saturday of a couple who got married in Las Vegas. I particularly like photographing the evening do's as I think it's a great opportunity to capture candids when everyone is a little more 'relaxed' and letting their hair down, I think often these are the best photographs. Following that I have my usual Saturday night club / party photography to do at the Viper Rooms. A busy day Saturday!

Summer Fair, Wortley Hall - Sheffield

I shall be selling landscape photographic prints this Saturday 06/07/13 at Wortley Hall, Sheffield. This is the first time I've actively tried to sell any of my landscape photos at an event such as this so it should be interesting. I've sold quite a few landscape photos that people have asked me for in the past so I've chosen the ones that I know have sold. Might inspire me to get out and do more landscape photography which whilst time consuming I find rewarding.
